About the role
As a Supermarket Assistant, you\’ll help create a positive experience for our customers by providing Partner-led service and a passion for food that sets us apart. Your dedication to excellent service will enhance the Waitrose brand and encourage customer loyalty.
Applicants must be 18 years or over due to working time regulations.
In addition to the stated pay, a shift premium is paid for hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00, at the role\’s minimum pay rate.
Key Responsibilities
- Stock replenishment: ensuring shelves are stocked and products are correctly placed for customers.
- Fulfilling online customer orders for delivery.
- Reducing wastage through product diligence and markdowns on near-expiry items.
- Supporting the shop team with checkout, Click & Collect, and on-demand orders.
- Maintaining a safe and tidy shop environment.
Essential skills/experience
- Effective communication skills for teamwork and customer interaction.
Desirable skills/experience
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
- Interest in food and drink trends.
- Flexibility to support the branch as needed.
Part-time hours (16-20 hours/week) across five days, including night shifts and weekends between 20:00-08:00.
