About the role
As a Vehicle Technician in one of our workshops, you'll mostly be repairing and maintaining our fleet of delivery vehicles, ensuring they are safe and roadworthy to both VOSA and Partnership standards. You’ll be working with many experienced technicians who will ensure you have all the tools you need to succeed and excel in your role, giving you opportunities to develop your knowledge and progress your career.

- Salary: The salary offered for this role is up to £55,000, depending on skills and experience, plus overtime is readily available.
- Working Hours: Full time role, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday - 07:00-15:00, and flexibility as required.
- Contract type: This is a permanent role.
- Location: South Central (Customer Delivery Hub), Southampton - a fully equipped van with workshop tooling/business vehicle will be available to travel to required sites.
Key Responsibilities
- To carry out scheduled repair and maintenance of the on site E commerce light commercial fleet.
- To carry out repair and maintenance of outlying commercial and light commercial vehicles for John Lewis and Waitrose branches and Customer Delivery Hubs.
- To ensure that all relevant inspection/service, job cards and defect documentation is filled in correctly and signed off in accordance with Operator licence conditions and DVSA guidelines.
- To be conversant with IT systems such as Key2, Service Rapido and relevant vehicle truck and van diagnostic systems.
- To adhere to health and safety measures on site and roadside.
- To attend breakdowns remote from the centre of operations in a safe and responsible manner taking due consideration for lone working guidelines.
- To take ownership of personal and technical development with support and guidance from team leaders.
- To participate and provide input towards the continuous improvement of the department such as best working practices and safe use of equipment.
- To provide feedback and suggestions for technical improvement of the fleet.
- To liaise with and support peers by sharing information.
- To attend manufacturers technical training updates.
- To keep abreast of new developments within the commercial vehicle repair industry.
- To ensure that the work area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
- To account for your own time, be proactive and efficient when working within the workshop.
- To work as part of the team and assist others where required.
Essential Experience/Qualifications required
- City and Guilds Level 3 Vehicle Technician or equivalent qualifications.
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
- A proven background in transport commercial vehicle repairs.
- Knowledge of commercial vehicle legislation and roadworthiness.
Desirable Skills
- IRTEC.
- LGV C+E Driving Licence.
- EV experience.
