About the role

We are looking for an agile, beauty obsessed Administrator to join our dynamic Beauty Trading team. If you thrive on keeping operations seamless and building strong relationships, this is your chance to step into a pivotal role within our Beauty Category Proposition Group. You’ll act as the vital bridge between the John Lewis Buying & Merchandising team and our brand suppliers, driving supply chain efficiency to directly optimise trading performance across a high profile brand portfolio Bring your energy, administrative skills, and love for beauty (across make up, skin care and fragrance) to a team where your work truly makes an impact.

  • Salary up to: £32,500.00 per annum dependant on skill and experience

  • Contract type: This is a permanent position

  • Hours and location of the role:

    • 35 hours per week

    • Your home location will be our London, Pimlico Head Office

    • This is a hybrid working role. The expectation is a minimum of 3 days per week in the office as team collaboration is critical in this role - core days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

Key responsibilities:

  • Updating and supporting brands on a number of key trading metrics through regular reporting and leading on retail supply chain meetings when necessary

  • Responsible for managing stock levels at a SKU level to maximise sales and availability, working to Open To Buy. Analysing weekly sales performance and taking actions to maintain stock levels in line with Category budgets and strategy

  • Responsible for availability and ensuring Core lines are never out of stock. Can understand and report on the different availability metrics.

  • Monitors supplier availability and can identify risks and suggest actions so that we offer the best availability for the customer and reduce markdown spend

  • Optimise inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts, ensuring optimal cash flow and operational efficiency and healthy stock.

  • Mitigate (and resolve when needed) delivery challenges ensuring compliant deliveries to distribution centres and efficient replenishment to branches

  • Collaborate with brand customer service and distribution teams to quickly resolve noncompliance issues (e.g. product availability). Able to apply corrective actions and implement preventative processes

  • Responsible for delivering, reporting and root cause analysis of all joint supply chain metrics including all elements of the supplier scorecard. Remit encompasses JL distribution centres and branch replenishment/on-counter availability in branches

  • Develop critical path schedules for key initiatives in conjunction with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Collaborate with brand supply chain and internal merchandising teams to support timely new product launch forecasts and orders

  • Work with key stakeholders to support end of product life cycle scenarios and management of branch stock exit plans

  • Collaborate with all key stakeholders to create processes that deliver joint value to JL and supply base

Essential skills and/or experience you’ll need:

  • Strong numeracy skills

  • Proactive and solution focused

  • Strong communication skills, written & verbal

  • Well organised with a continuous improvement focus

  • Working knowledge of Excel

Desirable skills and/or experience you may have:

  • Previous experience within the Beauty industry

  • Branded experience preferred

  • Knowledge of retail supply chain processes

  • Experience of stock and intake management

  • Experience of critical path management
