About the role
Would you like to work for an iconic brand? Are you great at analysing data and building relationships? Do you have experience in range planning? If so, this might be the perfect role for you! We’re recruiting for a Junior Merchandiser in Beauty.
You will use your analytical and commercial skills to plan and optimise the best range for customers within your category. You will work under the guidance of the Category Lead and L6 Merchandiser to deliver KPIs, including sales, profit, stock, SKUs, availability, margin, and risk management.
You will maximise opportunities as they arise and lead in-season trading to enhance outcomes for both customers and your category. You will task manage Merchandising Assistant(s) relevant to your product category, ensuring they have clear guidelines to fulfill their roles. Additionally, you will analyze commercial inputs to develop, with the Buyer, the best range of products supported by effective range planning and pricing architecture to deliver market-leading assortments.
- Salary: £32,600.00 – £50,500.00 (full Pay Band); we are seeking candidates up to £45,000 depending on experience.
- Contract type: This is a Permanent Role.
- Working pattern/flexible working: The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, allowing a mix of office and home-based work based on personal needs and business requirements. The team aims for around 3 days a week in the office, with flexibility for ad-hoc meetings.
- Location: This role is based at our Pimlico Head Office campus.
Key responsibilities
- Accountable for accurately planning and forecasting sales, stock, profit, and SKUs with support from the L6 Merchandiser and Trade Planning team.
- Responsible for the commercial and customer success of a product range through range planning and in-season trading, using analysis and reporting from Product Operations.
- Manage stock flow through Merchandising Assistants, controlling inventory levels and open-to-buy, maximizing availability across channels while minimizing costs.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and externally with suppliers and brands, maintaining strong relationships.
- Forecast assortment sales, stock, and margin KPIs, and decide on open-to-buy parameters aligned with commercial and customer targets.
- Make seasonal trading and volume decisions in collaboration with Buying, including commercial terms and product lifecycle management with suppliers.
- Manage relevant Merchandising Assistant(s) within your team.
Essential skills/experience
- Experience in Forecasting & Planning, WSSI management, influencing & stakeholder management.
- Experience in BTA preparation, margin modeling, and flow planning.
- Experience in the Beauty sector.
- Demonstrated merchandising practices, including assortment planning and stock management.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar analytical tools.
- Experience with reporting tools such as Business Intelligence, Tableau.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Understanding of retail operations and supply chain management.
- Proactive learning and development approach.
