Job Requirements
We are seeking a Hospitality Assistant to join our team at the John Lewis Partnership. The role involves working within a busy catering team to uphold high standards in service, presentation, operation, and food hygiene. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and be motivated to meet sales and cost targets.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Take delivery of food stock and distribute as required.
- Heavy lifting and safe handling of food products and ingredients.
- Stock rotation and storage management.
- Manage waste disposal with regard to health & safety and environmental impacts.
- Assist in basic food preparation.
- Manage waste, recycling, and cleanliness of kitchen areas.
- Wash pots, pans, and utensils.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen areas.
- Provide excellent customer service and promote products.
- Act as a brand ambassador, delivering outstanding customer experiences.
- Monitor and reduce wastage through proper ordering and record keeping.
- Replenish counters and coffee stations to standard.
- Handle customer queries and complaints effectively.
- Ensure compliance with catering policies, legislation, and health & safety regulations.
- Perform due diligence checks and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure vending machines are replenished and operational.
- Maintain food safety standards.
Essential Skills:
- Food Safety Level 2 (or willing to undertake training)
- Experience in PDRs/canteens or hospitality
- Ability to demonstrate initiative
Desirable Skills:
- Food Safety Level 3
