About the role

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll be bringing the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service right to our customers’ doors. Actively embodying our ethos – passionate Partners serving food lovers. When you\’re not out on the road, you\’ll support the team with daily tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient and welcoming operation of the shop.

Note: You need to be 18 years or older to work in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Start your day in store, checking your delivery routes.
  • Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are organized for efficient delivery.
  • Complete vehicle safety checks, maintaining road compliance and safety standards.
  • Represent the Waitrose brand on the road with excellent customer service.
  • Assist customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
  • Support shop team tasks when required.

Essential skills/experience

  • Valid UK manual driving licence (category B) with no more than 6 points.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good time management.
  • Physical ability to lift crates and move cages.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, able to work independently.
  • IT literacy.

Desirable skills/experience

  • Previous driving experience and knowledge of chilled vehicles are advantageous.

Part-time hours (22.5 hours/week) across seven days, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
