About the role

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service directly to customers’ doors, embodying our ethos – passionate Partners serving food lovers.

When not on deliveries, you\’ll support the shop team with tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the shop\’s efficient operation in a friendly environment.

Applicants must be 18 or older.

Successful candidates will be based at our Cheadle Hulme branch and provide driver relief cover at other South Manchester locations, including Altrincham, Buxton, Chester, Walton Le Dale, and Wilmslow.

Key Responsibilities

Starting in-store, your responsibilities include:

  1. Checking delivery routes for the day
  2. Loading and preparing your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are organized for efficient delivery
  3. Completing vehicle safety checks and maintaining road safety and compliance
  4. Representing the Waitrose brand with excellent customer service
  5. Assisting customers with shopping and building rapport
  6. Supporting shop tasks when needed

Essential skills/experience

  • Valid UK manual driving licence (category B) with no more than 6 points
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong time management
  • Physical ability to lift crates and move cages
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated and adaptable
  • IT literacy

Desirable skills/experience

  • Previous driving experience, especially with chilled vehicles
