About the role
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll be bringing the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner‑led service right to our customers’ doors. When you’re not out on the road, you’ll be back at the shop supporting the team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping, and contributing to efficient shop operations.
Required age: 18 years or older.
Key Responsibilities
- Check delivery routes for the day.
- Load and prepare the van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
- Ensure all appropriate vehicle safety checks are complete, maintaining full road compliance and health and safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service as a brand ambassador on the road.
- Help customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust.
- Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Full valid B‑Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Great customer service skills.
- Time‑management skills.
- Physical ability to lift crates and move cages.
- Ability to work independently, being self‑motivated and adaptable.
- IT literacy.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous driving role experience and knowledge of chilled vehicles.
Working Hours
Various part time roles available from 7.5 to 25 hours per week. Working hours include early mornings, late finishes, and weekend work (earliest start 05:30, latest finish 22:30).
