Hospitality, Supermarket Assistant in Cheltenham

About the role

As a Partner on our service counters, you will demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while proudly showcasing ethically sourced products. You will create lasting relationships with customers, enhance the Waitrose brand experience, and help maximize sales and profit.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the food counter meets the highest presentation and hygiene standards.
• Maintain stock levels so products are available when needed.
• Handle open food with care, following health & safety protocols and reducing food waste.
• Keep up to date with new products and understand Waitrose food values such as animal welfare.
• Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.

Essential skills/experience you’ll need

• Strong communication skills to work effectively with colleagues and customers.

Desirable skills/experience you may have

• Experience in a customer‑facing role.
• Experience working in a catering or hospitality environment.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
• Flexible approach to support the whole branch.

Working hours

Varied hours of part‑time work: 15 hours per week across seven days, including early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends from 08:00 to 22:00.
