As a Supermarket Assistant, you’ll help keep the Waitrose brand noticed on every visit by providing Partner‑led service and a passion for food that our competitors can’t compete with. Your drive to go the extra mile will make all the difference to the impression customers have of our brand and keep them returning again and again.

We are thrilled to announce that a brand‑new Waitrose Convenience shop is arriving on 2nd July 2026, and we’re looking for dedicated food‑loving Partners to help us build this shop from the ground up. As a vital member of our founding team, you’ll work side‑by‑side with your colleagues to champion quality, integrity, and the unique shopping experience our customers love.

Key Responsibilities
Alongside the excellent service you provide to customers, your role involves a variety of shop‑keeping tasks to keep the operation running efficiently and productively. Responsibilities include:
- Stock replenishment – ensuring our shelves remain full and products are in the right place at the right time for our customers.
- Fulfilling online customer orders ready for drivers to deliver their shopping directly to customers’ doors.
- Reducing wastage by following product due diligence and markdowning items reaching their sell‑by dates.
- Working with the wider shop team to support when needed, including checkout support, managing Click & Collect orders, fulfilling on‑demand customer orders and more.
- Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment with general shop‑keeping tasks.
Essential skills / experience you'll need:
- Communication skills to enable you to work effectively as part of a team and with our customers.
Desirable skills / experience you may have:
- Experience of working in a customer‑facing role is welcomed.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge and a strong interest in food and drink trends.
