As a Warehouse Partner working in one of our distribution centres, you'll have the important role of making sure our stock is in the right place at the right time for our customers. Whether it's for shop deliveries or direct to customer orders, you'll handle the goods that pass through our warehouses efficiently and accurately.

Working with a friendly and welcoming team, your respectful and hard-working nature will make all the difference to the site's efficiency and ultimately the service we provide to our customers. Both days and nights vacancies are available.

Key Responsibilities

During a typical day or night, you'll be responsible for:

  • Helping to load and unload our lorries the day's deliveries.
  • Organising stock, ensuring that our goods and products are safely stored and replenished and that a safe working environment is adhered to at all times.
  • Picking and packing the orders for our customers and prepare these for delivery (John Lewis only).
  • Maintaining and taking pride in general housekeeping tasks to keep the operation running smoothly.
  • Supporting the whole warehouse team by being flexible, working in the areas of the site that need it most when required.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) accurately and consistently promote, develop and deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Handle and store stock correctly and accurately to maximise stock availability and reduce wastage caused through damage.
  • Use relevant systems and equipment effectively, e.g. internal two-way radios when required, demonstrate flexibility across the site to enable business targets to be achieved.
  • Participate in continuous improvement (CI) activities to assist with problem solving and process improvement to achieve KPIs.
  • Look for opportunities to contribute towards branch initiatives.
  • Support Section Manager with ideas and suggestions to support operational planning.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards across the areas you work.
  • Attend and participate in communication meetings and briefings including democratic activity.
  • You will be expected to use MHE (at least ROPT/LLOP).
  • This role necessitates the ability to see clearly at various distances to safely operate machinery and effectively read and understand signage. This can be with the use of glasses if required.
  • Apply health and safety management standards evenly and effectively across the department, thus creating and enabling a safe working environment and also meeting any legislative requirements indicated by the products and/or equipment you work with.
  • Be aware of and adhere to all ISI policies.
  • The site holds items which may require a two-person lift.

Desirable skills/experience you may have

Previous experience of working in a warehouse is welcomed but not essential. We'll train you in all you need to know so that you can perform at your best, every day. 37.5 hours of full-time work across seven days or nights to include early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends.
