About the role
As a Testing Analyst (Referred to as Testing Analyst Level 2) you will be responsible for testing and developing the cutting edge semi automated systems at our National Distribution Centres in Magna Park & Fenny Lock (Milton Keynes). Ranging from Warehouse Robotics to Packing Machines, our growing Development Team works closely alongside our Warehouse Operators to get the most out of the technology to support this critical area of the John Lewis Supply Chain. The Development Team uses the latest technologies like JIRA, GIT LAB & SLACK. We are testing the latest supply chain solutions in the market such as HAI & LOCUS robotics for storing and picking, EVO OSR shuttles for storage & retrieval and B+ and CVP automated carton packing machines for packaging. We are constantly looking to enhance our Warehouse Management Systems, giving our Testing Analyst the exciting prospect of working with the latest technologies, and developing their skills, experience and career. For clarity, you will be testing warehouse management and control systems and its integration with latest warehouse technologies.
Salary: £39,100 – £62,000
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Partners: Mon – Fri 09:00 – 17:00 and this role requires travel between our Distribution Centres at Magna Park and Fenny Lock, with your home location being Magna Park.
Key responsibilities

Defining, developing, applying, and assessing tests to our existing and new functionalities, usually in a software context.

Working as part of a team of Test Analysts

Supporting regression testing areas of functionality, such as Receiving, Decant, Picking, Packing and Despatch.

Using your strong analytical skills to identify issues with the weekly release

Developing your understanding of the solution and the domain of testing
Essential skills/experience you\’ll need

Previous Experience of IT Delivery to a mid-junior level

Previous experience of working with testing tool- JIRA

Previous IT/Testing experience of warehouse management systems or a warehouse/distribution environment would be beneficial

Ability to work under pressure

Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and very good problem solving skills

Very good communication skills
Desirable skills/experience you may have

End-to-end software development life-cycle

Previous experience in testing and defect management

Certification: ISTQB (foundation or advanced)

Knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL

Software development methodologies, e.g. waterfall, agile
