About the Role
As one of our Installation Specialists based in a Customer Delivery Hub, you will bring the distinctive John Lewis service to customers’ doors, delivering and installing products such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TV sets. You will work as part of a 2‑person delivery crew and drive a 7.5‑tonne vehicle. Due to its nature, you must be 18 years or older to work in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand; customer service is your priority.
- Load the lorry with deliveries and work with the warehouse team.
- Treat customers’ homes with respect, handle unexpected situations, and find solutions.
- Install products efficiently and demonstrate how they work.
- Keep up to date with new products and technologies.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
This role involves heavy lifting, including delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses.
Essential skills and experience
- Previous installation experience; will receive installer accreditation training.
- Manual C1 UK driving licence (maximum of 6 points).
- DCPC or Driver Qualification Card by the first day in the role.
- Tachograph Card.
- Previous experience driving a 7.5‑tonne vehicle.
- Previous customer‑facing experience.
- Great verbal communication skills, both over the phone and in person.
- Good understanding of technology.

- Installation and disconnection of white goods.
- TV installation.
- Assembly of a flat pack.
