As one of our Installation Specialists based in a Customer Delivery Hub, you will bring the distinctive John Lewis service to customers’ doors and install products they love, such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems and TV sets. You will work as part of a 2‑person delivery crew, driving a 7.5‑tonne vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as an ambassador for the John Lewis brand, prioritising great customer service.
- Load the day’s deliveries into the lorry, working alongside the warehouse team.
- Show respect and courtesy for the customer’s home and handle unexpected situations to find the best possible solution.
- Install products efficiently and quickly, demonstrating how they work once installed.
- Keep up to date with new products and technologies to perform at your best.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
Note: This role involves heavy lifting and large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds and mattresses.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous installation experience, with our installer accreditation training provided.
- Manual “C1” UK driving licence (maximum 6 points).
- DCPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) or Driver Qualification Card by the first day.
- Tachograph Card.
- Previous experience driving a 7.5‑tonne vehicle.
- Previous experience in a customer‑facing role.
- Great verbal communication skills, both over the phone and in person.
- Good understanding of technology.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Installation and disconnection of white goods.
- TV installation.
- Assembly of a flat pack.
