As a Local Events and Community Specialist for John Lewis, you’ll be delivering local events and community activities that enhance customer experience and uphold the branch’s commitment to community wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be the go‑to activator for your shop in local marketing, events and social impact activity.
  • Create and deliver local marketing events that identify and unlock the best opportunities for inspiring innovative customer engagement, driving footfall into your shop.
  • You’ll be liaising with multiple stakeholders to execute exceptional events.
  • You will need to proactively collaborate with the central events and social impact teams to deliver a calendar of activities.
  • Oversee the implementation of in‑branch charity fundraising and social impact activities, including Community Matters and the John Lewis Partnership Foundation.
  • Ensure all your activities comply with Health and Safety procedures and GDPR.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for John Lewis.

Essential Skills/Experience You’ll Need

  • Experience in managing events and/or community plans.
  • Managing various stakeholders.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Prioritising, organising and planning multiple activities/projects at the same time.

Desirable Skills/Experience You May Have

  • Delivery of events within a retail environment.
  • Experience of delivering relevant marketing activity.
  • Understanding of social impact, local community needs and charities and/or community groups.
