About the role

As an Installation Trainee, you\’ll train to become a qualified and accredited home installation specialist with the support of our knowledgeable team based in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs. Once fully trained, you\’ll have the opportunity to bring the John Lewis service directly to customers\’ homes, installing products such as furniture, large electrical appliances, sound systems, and TV sets as part of a 2-person delivery crew.

Note: You need to be 18 years or older to work in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service.
  • Assist in loading deliveries at the delivery hub alongside the warehouse team.
  • Respect customers\’ homes and handle unexpected situations effectively.
  • Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use to customers.
  • Stay updated on new products and technologies.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.

Essential skills/experience

  • Previous installation experience.
  • Manual C1 UK driving license (max 6 points).
  • DCPC and Tachograph Card.
  • Experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Physical ability to handle large items.
  • Good understanding of technology.

Desirable skills/experience

  • White goods installation and disconnection.
  • TV installation.
  • Flat pack assembly.

Full-time, 41 hours/week, working 4 days including some Saturdays, from 06:00 to 17:00.
