Head Chef – Team Manager London – Pimlico (On-Site) Permanent – Full Time (35 hours per week) At a glance We have an exciting opportunity to join the Hospitality & Food Service team as a Head Chef (internally known as Team Manager – Food Production) at our John Lewis Head Office in Pimlico. As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for our popular Partner Dining Room (serving up to 700 covers for Breakfast and Lunch), shaping and influencing all aspects of the menu development and food production, including compliance and risk management. Lead a Dedicated Team: motivate and inspire a team of 7 talented kitchen professionals. Menu Development: Shape and influence all aspects of menu creation for our popular Partner’s Dining Room (serving up to 700 covers daily). Your Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of food production, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and hygiene. Manage, lead, and motivate a team of 7 kitchen staff in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Develop and implement exciting new menu items while adhering to budget and food cost targets. Ensure full compliance with JLP Catering policies, health and safety standards, and legislation. Contribute to the overall success of the Hospitality & Food Service team, potentially involving occasional travel to other locations. Essential Skills and Qualifications: Recognised Food Production Certificate (City & Guilds Level 1 & 2 or equivalent). Intermediate or Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 3 preferred). Proven experience in a high-volume dining room or hospitality setting, with a leadership role. Line management experience is desirable. Benefits of the Partnership and the role: Hybrid Working.
