About The Role
As one of our Installation Specialists based in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs, you will have the unique opportunity to bring our distinctive John Lewis service right to our customers' doors and install the products they love into their homes (such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TV sets) as part of a two-person delivery crew.

- Salary: Starting rates for a Customer Delivery Hub Driver Trainee will be £26,700 (Annual) & Installer Trainee will be £29,000 (Annual)

Driver Trainee Responsibilities:
- Complete the 12-month Customer Delivery Driver Trainee programme to become a fully qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer.
- Provide excellent customer service, representing the John Lewis brand.
- Assist in loading your vehicle with daily deliveries in collaboration with the warehouse team.
- Handle customer homes with respect and courtesy, and resolve unexpected situations effectively.
- Install products efficiently and demonstrate their operation to customers.
- Stay updated with new products and technologies.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
Note: This role involves heavy lifting of large items such as sofas, white goods, beds, and mattresses.
Essential Skills/Experience for Driver Trainee:
- UK B-Category manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Interest in technology and installation.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Previous installation and delivery experience.
Installer Trainee Responsibilities:
- Complete the 3-month Customer Delivery Installer Trainee programme to become a fully qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer.
- Prioritize excellent customer service.
- Assist in loading deliveries with the warehouse team.
- Respect customer homes and resolve issues effectively.
- Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use.
- Keep updated with new products and technologies.
- Maintain safety standards.
Note: Heavy lifting involved, delivering large items like sofas, white goods, furniture, beds, and mattresses.
Essential Skills/Experience for Installer:
- Manual C1 UK driving licence (max 6 points).
- DCPC and Tachograph Card.
- Experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
- Customer-facing experience.
- Good communication skills.
- Understanding of technology.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Experience with home delivery and installation of electrical and furniture products.
