Mental Health Assistant – 37 hours per week Mon‑Fri Term Time + 1 week permanent. SSP11 £28,634pa. Full Time Equivalent, actual £25,228pa.
Full Time – Permanent
Responsibilities
- Support students one-to-one and in groups, delivering impactful workshops and wellbeing initiatives.
- Provide early intervention and manage referrals, promoting positive coping strategies.
- Work closely with colleagues, families and external partners to ensure students receive the right support at the right time.
- Design and deliver creative programmes that build confidence, resilience and positive mental health.
- Contribute to safeguarding by identifying and responding to concerns and upholding the highest standards across the college.
- Assist with early help and support processes and participate in the safeguarding team.
- Maintain a varied caseload, manage time effectively and bring energy and fresh ideas to student wellbeing.
Qualifications & Personal Attributes
We are looking for an individual who is approachable, empathetic, resilient and has the ability to build strong relationships with young people.
Experience in pastoral or safeguarding work and good organizational and communication skills are valued, along with a proactive and inspirational attitude.

Additional Information
Salary: SSP11 £28,634pa, Full Time Equivalent, actual £25,228pa for a full academic year (September to August) paid in 12 equal monthly payments.
