The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth across the South Coast region through a combination of new business development and account management. The role focuses on building a robust sales pipeline, converting opportunities into long-term customer relationships, and expanding market share across key industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Sales Delivery: Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities across defined sectors. Deliver regional sales targets (circa £1m annual revenue). Develop and execute a territory sales plan aligned to company objectives. Build and manage a high-quality sales pipeline across all product divisions.
- Account Management: Manage and grow existing customer accounts (approx. 40% of role). Leverage existing framework agreements to generate additional revenue streams. Maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders. Promote the full product and service portfolio, including: Chain, sprockets, shafts, site services (field service), valves and laser-cut/manufactured components.
- Sales Process & CRM: Accurately manage quotations, orders, and customer interactions via CRM. Maintain and update customer database records. Produce regular sales reports and forecasts for management.
- Customer Interaction & Negotiation: Deliver presentations and proposals to key decision-makers. Negotiate commercial agreements with customers. Represent the business at industry events and networking opportunities.
Person Specification
- Essential Skills & Capabilities: Proven ability in new business development and pipeline generation. Strong negotiation and closing skills. Experience in territory planning and sales execution. Competence in consultative/solution-based selling. Ability to interpret technical requirements (e.g. measuring chain/components). Proficient in CRM systems and sales reporting. Technical knowledge of mechanical components or industrial products. Understanding of relevant industries (e.g. aggregates, recycling, EfW). Existing customer or industry network. Experience working with framework agreements.
- Experience: Demonstrable experience in a field-based sales role. Track record of achieving sales targets. Experience managing a defined territory. Background in similar sectors or products preferred. Candidates from industrial distribution (e.g. ERIKS, Rubix, Hayley) considered.
- Qualifications: Full UK driving licence required.
