The business operates from a modern warehouse in Warrington and is looking to recruit an experienced supervisor to plan our fleet of 35 vehicles.
Role Description
This is a "hands-on" role and we are looking for an experienced multi-drop planning specialist to work on-site at our Warrington facility.
Responsibilities include coordinating daily planning operations and optimizing routes, allocating vehicles and drivers, and balancing cost efficiencies with customer service-level agreements.
The role involves close collaboration with drivers, transit warehouse operators and customers and will involve shift work between 06:00 - 22:00 hrs.
This position requires customer centric proactive problem-solving, clear communication, and a strong focus on safety and compliance with relevant regulations.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Multi-Drop Rigid & Artic Planning to ensure efficient, compliant transport operations.
- Proficiency in Operations Management to coordinate daily logistics activities, resource allocation, and performance monitoring.
- Ability to use Transport Modelling tools and data analysis to optimize routes, capacity, and costs.
- Effective Communication skills for collaborating with drivers, and internal teams, and for resolving operational issues promptly.
- Previous experience in transport or logistics planning within a fast-paced environment, preferably in road freight or distribution.
- Solid understanding of UK transport regulations, health and safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Strong IT skills, including use of transport management systems and standard office software.
- Knowledge of the UK distribution market & intelligent use of sub-contractors
- Demonstrated ability to work accurately under time pressure, with strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
