Due to continued growth and a significant increase in the level of new enquiries, we are looking to recruit a two to four year PQE lawyer or experienced Paralegal to join their Clevedon or Weston-super-Mare practices to support the Wills, Probate and Estate Administration Department. The successful candidate will benefit from working alongside two experienced Partners and a friendly and supportive team where each individual is encouraged to strive to fulfil their individual professional development goals, within a firm who put their client’s needs at the heart of what they do.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Running their own busy caseload with a wide variety of private client work, such as estate and trust administration, Will drafting, preparation and advice surrounding Lasting Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection and attorneyship work;
- Regular client contact, including face to face meetings;
- Tailoring advice and skills to act in each client’s best interests;
- Making the best use of the available resources and administrative support to ensure that all client work is progressed expeditiously as possible, and that the client is kept regularly informed on progress and costs;
- Having overall responsibility for the day-to-day cash management on own matter balances with support from the experienced cash office team;
- Assisting the Partners with marketing initiatives and business development to raise their own profile and that of the Private Client Department;
- Maintaining electronic and physical files so they remain compliant and up to date;
- Preparing correspondence and documents through the use of Microsoft Office;
- Ensuring the confidentiality and security of all client documentation and information on your matters.
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience:
- Have recent knowledge and experience of managing their own caseload and seeing a matter through from instruction to the conclusion within a busy Wills and Probate department within the legal sector;
- Have strong communication and client care skills to ensure our clients receive an efficient, reliable and friendly service over the telephone, in written correspondence and face to face;
- Demonstrate initiative and be flexible and proactive in their support to the Department and the wider office team;
- Have strong organisational skills to manage their own workload and diary;
- Demonstrate attention to detail and have excellent typing skills;
- Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and a Case Management System;
- Be a team player but also be able to work autonomously;
- Be passionate about law and have a strong work ethic;
- Be available to work Monday-Friday 9:00-17:15 and Saturday Clinics 9:00-13:00 on a rota basis up to 4 times a year. Part time hours will be considered;
- Be local to Clevedon or Weston-super-Mare or surrounding areas;
- Have a full, clean driving licence.
