About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious

Barge Master to operate and oversee the safe navigation of an inland waterway barge.

This role involves managing the day‑to‑day running of the vessel, ensuring compliance with relevant maritime regulations, and leading the crew to deliver bunkers efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take command of the barge, ensuring safe navigation on inland waterways.
  • Plan and execute voyages in compliance with statutory and company requirements.
  • Manage vessel operations including loading, unloading, and securing of cargo.
  • Lead, supervise, and train crew members.
  • Maintain the vessel to a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and operational readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Valid Boatmaster’s Licence (or equivalent certification).
  • Demonstrable experience operating barges or similar vessels on inland waterways.
  • Strong knowledge of navigation, seamanship, and maritime safety regulations.
  • Leadership and crew management skills.
  • Good communication and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours depending on schedules and operations.
