As the Construction division within GRAHAM continues to grow, we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with sound knowledge of both construction methods, and safety, health & environmental legislation to complete safety, health & environment responses for pre-qualification, bid, tender and assessment scheme submissions. The successful candidate will ultimately report to the Safety, Health & Environment Director and will provide competent and thorough answers to any relevant questions assigned. They will also be required to review current submissions and suggest improvements, create a database of responses and update as necessary, attend site visits, client interviews and de-briefs as appropriate, and may be required to review and provide comment on subcontractor responses and assessment returns. The post holder should have a proactive and enthusiastic attitude and be able to convey construction methods and safety processes in a clear and logical manner. The role may combine a hybrid working pattern based on a minimum of 3 days per working week based in our Hillsborough Office.
The Safety, Health & Environment Submissions / Bid Co-ordinator shall:
- Provide responses to pre-qualification, bid and tender questions relating to Safety, Health & Environment issues.
- Be able to work to tight deadlines on more than one issue at the one time without compromising the quality of the responses.
- Visit selected sites to gain an insight into the possible hazards and situations to be accounted for during the construction phase that are to be addressed in the response.
- Develop a database of responses that can be accessed by other members of the team.
- Complete award submissions and visit sites to garner evidence to support the application.
NOTE: This post may involve travelling throughout the UK and an occasional overnight stay away from home. This job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for the Safety, Health & Environment Submissions / Bid Co-ordinator and the range of duties to be undertaken. It does not attempt to detail every activity. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals.

Technical Competencies
- Previous experience of completing pre-qualification, bid and tender responses to health, safety and environmental questionnaires.
- A knowledge of relevant Health & Safety and Environment legislation, guidance and standards.
- Demonstrate a rounded knowledge of both terminology and the construction process and site operations.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in construction operations (Building, Civil Engineering & Interior Fit-out).
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Awareness of relevant standards / PAS 2080 / for example).
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Successful candidate will require to achieve security clearance.
Desirable
- Formal environmental qualification NEBOSH Diploma.
