We are looking for an Assistant Warehouse Manager to join our Warehousing team on a permanent basis.
Normal working hours are 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday to be worked between the hours of 8.00am-5.00pm.

The role
As an Assistant Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Warehouse Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring an efficient, safe, and productive working environment.
The role will include:
- Ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient day-to-day operations of the warehouses.
- Supervising, training, and motivating a team of 7 warehouse operatives to achieve daily targets.
- Co-ordinating inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Receipting of goods, creating picking orders for the warehouse operatives and despatching goods.
- Communicating effectively with customers, providing necessary information.
- Maintaining high levels of stock control, inventory accuracy using Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitoring and enforcing workplace safety, cleanliness, and security procedures.
- Organising internal and external transport for collections and deliveries.
- Providing quotations for work related operations.
- Maintaining accurate invoices and ensure records are up to date.
- Assisting in the warehouse operations when required.
- Promoting a positive health and safety culture by ensuring compliance with company policies, safe working practices and relevant legislation. Support risk management by reporting and investigating incidents, addressing hazards, and leading by example to maintain a safe working environment.
- Taking responsibility in the absence of the Warehouse Manager.
About you:
- Previous experience in a warehouse supervisor / team leader role is essential. Assistant Manager experience is desirable.
- Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is an advantage.
- Counterbalance and reach truck licence desirable but not essential.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- A problem solver with hands on approach and commitment to Health & Safety.
- Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to inventory accuracy.
- IOSH Managing Safely is desirable but not essential.
