Our client is a leading law firm based in Chesterfield, now adding an additional member to their friendly HR Team.

Role – HR Assistant

Salary £25-£30K

Role Overview

The HR Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the HR team, ensuring the smooth delivery of HR services across recruitment, absence management, employee engagement, and HR systems. This role is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to supporting both managers and employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-line HR advice to managers and employees in person, by phone, or email.
• Recruitment
• Absence Management
• Assist with ongoing HR projects and initiatives.
• Provide administrative support to the HR Advisor.
• Support and drive employee engagement activities.
• Advise on holiday and absence procedures.
• Assist in developing and updating HR policies and procedures.
• Coordinate employee long-service recognition.
• Monitor training records to ensure compliance and completion.
• Maternity/Paternity/Family leave.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in an HR administrative role.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and HR systems.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Knowledge of HR processes and employment legislation (advantageous).
