We are currently looking for an Electrician to join our busy depot in Aldridge to carry out pre‑hire inspections, maintenance and repairs on our electrical distribution equipment. Working alongside the rest of the electrical team, you will carry out detailed inspections and repairs to our electrical distribution boards, AMF Panels and cabling in line with regulatory requirements. The role will be office based and comes with a competitive salary, 25 days paid annual leave plus Bank Holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of equipment for hire in line with company standards and legal requirements
  • Repairs of damaged equipment on return to bring back up to specification and make ready for hire
  • Attend sites if and when required to carry out repairs should equipment become faulty whilst on hire
  • Diagnose faults on electrical equipment and establish requirements for repairs
  • Adhoc electrical requirements in the depot should they arise
  • Possible requirement to travel to other John F Hunt Power depots as required to carry out servicing or repairs on equipment in these locations
  • Manage fleet availability to ensure high utilisation of our own equipment at all times

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 18th Edition qualified electrician
  • Understanding or experience of the hire industry
  • Able to prioritise workload
  • Can‑do attitude and willingness to work to short deadlines to meet the demands of the hire industry
  • Have a commercial awareness when considering repairs and evaluating damage
  • Forklift licence preferred
  • ECS Card preferred but not essential
  • Reasonable grasp of IT skills to use personal devices to complete pre‑hire and off‑hire paperwork as required
  • Understanding of customer service and confidence in customer facing situations on site
