We are currently recruiting for a Depot Manager to join our depot in Grays, Essex leading a team of 25+ staff members delivering industry leading service to our clients in London and South East.
Role Description
The Depot Manager will oversee daily operations at the depot, ensuring the efficient execution of tasks such as stock and inventory management, resource allocation, and overseeing generator maintenance schedules. Key responsibilities include leading and managing a team, enforcing compliance with health and safety protocols, and fostering excellent customer service relationships. The Depot Manager will also work closely with other departments to meet operational goals and ensure optimal service delivery.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to)
- Oversee an established Hire Desk team to ensure class-leading customer service is being delivered at all times.
- Ensuring all work in the depot is adequately planned and carried out in line with current internal HSEQ standards.
- Managing workflow of the engineering teams to ensure delivery of upcoming projects, adequate stock levels, repair & servicing schedules etc.
- Oversee all Hire Desk activity with a grasp on the depot's transport planning, servicing records, delivery and collection of projects.
- People management of the team in the depot, including basic HR requirements and personal development of the team through regular appraisals.
Desired Skills/Experience
- A desire to lead a team of people to deliver exceptional customer service levels at all times.
- Experience in a similar Depot Manager or Branch Manager role.
- Experience of Temporary Power would be beneficial.
- Experience with implementing and maintaining Health & Safety standards in operational settings.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, along with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Commercial awareness to inform depot-level business decisions.
