We are currently looking for an Electrical Yard Operative to join our busy depot in Aldridge. Working alongside the rest of the electrical team, you will be responsible for loading and offloading electrical distribution equipment and cabling, following our off-hire process to ensure smooth booking in of off hired equipment. The role will be office based and comes with a competitive salary, 25 days paid annual leave plus Bank Holidays.

Responsibilities include (but are not restricted to) the following:

  • Working in a yard environment to assist the team with the preparation, off hiring, stock control etc of our electrical distribution equipment
  • Loading and Offloading HGVs, Couriers and any other delivery/collection vehicles
  • Carrying out adhoc deliveries to site in company vehicles
  • Processing all paperwork associated with the hire process
  • Inspecting equipment on return to identify damage or misuse
  • Stock control
  • General housekeeping of the working area
  • Adhoc duties in and around the depot as requested by management
  • Occasional requirement to travel to other depots to carry out duties if required

Desired skills and experience:

  • Forklift license and experience required
  • UK Driving License
  • An understanding or experience of the hire industry preferred
  • Attention to detail to identify and flag damage to equipment on return to the depot
  • Organisation and a desire to keep work area clean and tidy
  • Basic IT skills to use personal devices to book in equipment on return to the depot
