As a Regional Technical Manager for the North, the successful candidate will provide technical support and assistance to the wider business, specifically within our North East depot in Durham, and our Scotland depot in Livingston. Coordinating with our other Regional Technical Managers and Depot Foreman, this role is pivotal to ensuring continuity throughout the company in all technical matters. The role will consist of a combination of field and depot-based work, with an expectation that your time is split equally between both locations, and comes with a competitive salary, 25 days holiday and a company vehicle.
Responsibilities include (but are not restricted to) the following:
- Oversee all repairs within your region to ensure optimum utilisation of assets at all times.
- Assist engineering team with major repairs.
- Provide engineering problem solving/fault finding.
- Support sales team with technical queries and application sizing.
- Assist sales team by attending client site visits to provide technical support.
- Liaise with customers when required to provide technical information.
- Train and develop engineers to meet operational requirements.
- Support the National Technical Manager, providing reports on depot performance, repairs, and quality control as required.
- Ensuring duties are always carried out in line with the business Health & Safety policies.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate extensive Generator experience & knowledge, with a track record of delivering technical excellence in previous roles. They should have extensive knowledge of BSU systems, possess strong management skills, enabling them to supervise a team of engineers, and have sound commercial awareness and judgement. The ability to prioritise work and adjust according to the demands of the business is essential, as is the capability to work as part of a team and independently. Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders at all levels are required, along with a passion to deliver first-class customer service at all times, encouraging buy-in from their teams. A full UK driving licence held for a minimum of 3 years is necessary, and a forklift licence is preferable (training provided if required).
