We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Sales Engineer to join our UK Sales Team within our Manchester site. As a Technical Sales Engineer you will be responsible for the technical sales for the UK business. This is a busy role, along with 6 other team members, working with Technical RFQs to produce high quality Quotes, and then the processing of subsequent Purchase Orders and contract managing the order through to delivery, and coordination of any post-delivery issues. Additionally responsible for all related queries for UK Customer base, such as expediting. This role has direct contact with the Customers, dealing with their technical queries on a daily basis for all product ranges, so seals/couplings/systems/filtration. They also deal directly with the JC Ops Plants & Global projects as and when required. This role is based from our Manchester site working Monday to Friday normal office hours. (hybrid working available once training completed) Low percentage of national travel may be required.
Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to):
- To select our products and produce high quality, technical/commercial, timely Quotations/Bids (and revisions) for any product using the company quotation tool (C4C).
- The production and maintenance of a system to track the background to a bid/quote.
- Able to reason and justify the value of the bid, if requiring management sign off.
- To accurately review/capture Customer Specifications, ensuring all technical, commercial, financial, quality & contractual aspects are identified and select product.
- Project Bid liaison with our Central Projects Group.
- The maintenance and update of databases in use within this role.
- To resolve in a timely manner any queries related to Customers/JC personnel.
- To deal professionally with the needs of the Customer, taking full responsibility and accountability to ensure they always experience exceptional Customer Service.
- Provide first point technical support for key initiatives, bids, orders, specification reviews, returned goods investigations, complaints, etc received from the Customer.
- Accurately load and contract manage complex orders onto differing supply plants.
- Able to specify and raise requests for proposals or general arrangement drawings.
- Customer visits as and when required in support of sales initiatives.
The Individual:
- Previous experience within an engineering background, preferably mechanical engineering.
- Able to read and understand drawings and data sheets.
- Be a Self-starter.
- Be a Team player and able to contribute in team matters.
- Have excellent pro-active communication skills at all levels in the Company and with the Customer, written and verbal.
