We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Slough based Research & Development team on a permanent basis (hybrid). We are a leader in innovative sealing solutions, specialising in gas compression and sealing technologies that drive efficiency and sustainability in industry. Our team is dedicated to developing cutting-edge products that meet the demands of modern industrial applications, from upstream exploration to midstream processing. You will be joining a team specifically responsible for Dry Gas Seal development projects, with involvement throughout the entire product development lifecycle from concept to execution of new and innovative Dry Gas Seals. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, you will form an integral part of the mechanical design business unit, a team of highly creative and inventive engineering experts.
- Development and validation of new gas seal products to meet business needs and departmental objectives.
- Support prototyping and iterative testing of new products.
- Participation in the department's innovation initiative - the invention of new concepts, ideas, and breakthrough technologies to support future business and generate new IP.
- Project manage development programs to plan and budget.
- Perform and monitor testing of seal designs, whether as part of product development or for customer-specific tests.
- Support the transition of a product from development into production.
- Detailed technical presentations to customers to support sales and training initiatives.
- Create and distribute technical bulletins, articles, or papers dealing with product, application, or system design.
- Look to perform mechanical design (CAD) and analyses (FEA).
- Conduct feasibility studies and testing on novel and modified designs.
- Support sales, where appropriate, in addressing new business opportunities.
- Participate in new process development, qualification, and optimisation.
- Production of technical product standards to support commercialisation of developed products.
