Our client is looking for a Solutions Architect based in the UK to join a growing technical team focused on designing automation solutions for warehouse and distribution environments. This remote position will play a key role in supporting customers through the evaluation, design, and implementation of technology solutions that improve operational efficiency within retail, wholesale, and e-commerce fulfilment operations.
Working closely with commercial teams, customers, and implementation partners, you will help develop scalable automation concepts that combine robotics, software platforms, and data-driven analysis to enhance warehouse performance.
Key Responsibilities- Support pre-sales activities including site visits, discovery sessions, technical demonstrations, and solution presentations.
- Work with customers and internal teams to develop automation concepts tailored to specific operational requirements.
- Participate in the design and development of warehouse automation solutions from initial concept through to detailed design.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, product, and delivery teams to ensure solutions are aligned with customer objectives.
- Produce technical documentation including data analysis, layout drawings, equipment specifications, and proposal materials.
- Analyse operational data such as order profiles, SKU characteristics, inventory levels, and throughput requirements to inform system design.
- Translate analytical findings into clear visual summaries and operational recommendations.
- Develop labour modelling and productivity benchmarks using established industrial engineering methods.
- Create simulation or modelling tools to test and validate proposed operational designs.
- Build financial justification models that demonstrate the commercial impact of automation investments.
- Coordinate internally across technical and commercial stakeholders during complex sales opportunities.
- Support project implementation by working alongside delivery teams to ensure design intent is achieved.
- Contribute insights from customer engagements to help inform future product development and solution improvements.

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Approximately 6+ years of professional experience, including several years working within warehouse operations, supply chain consulting, or automation solution design.
- Strong experience analysing operational datasets such as order data, SKU characteristics, storage strategies, and throughput analysis.
- Ability to lead customer-facing technical discussions and workshops.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting technical concepts to both operational teams and senior stakeholders.
- Practical understanding of warehouse operations within retail, wholesale, or e-commerce fulfilment environments.
- Experience applying industrial engineering techniques to develop productivity models or labour standards.
- Familiarity with warehouse software systems such as WMS or related execution/control platforms.
- Experience defining material handling or automation system requirements.
- Ability to build financial models and business cases supporting technology investments.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally internationally as required.
