Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join a dynamic technology team. This role will focus on deploying, configuring, and maintaining cloud environments using industry-standard tools like Terraform and PowerShell. The engineer will also play a key role in administering the Azure DevOps environment, including permissions management, auditing, securing repositories, and designing CI/CD pipelines. This position combines hands-on cloud engineering with mentoring junior team members and leading small to mid-sized projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as an escalation point for Cloud Engineer I and II team members.
- Support managed services and cloud solutions in Azure.
- Apply subscription/tagging standards, enforce least privilege, and conduct access reviews.
- Assist with external customer virtual desktop (AVD) environments.
- Design, maintain, and support Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Manage and secure the Azure DevOps environment (audit logs, service connections, secure variables, environments).
- Collaborate with the Cloud Architecture team on cloud-based solutions.
- Implement cloud service transition processes (TTO) and change control procedures.
- Ensure patch SLAs and security baselines are met.
- Validate backup policies, perform restore tests, and maintain DR playbooks.
- Participate in on-call rotation.
- Mentor junior cloud engineers and create work instructions for standard procedures.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience managing and monitoring Azure services.
- 4+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- 4+ years of experience with PowerShell, Azure CLI, JSON, or other scripting languages.
- 4+ years of experience managing source control and work items in Azure DevOps or GitHub Enterprise.
- 2+ years of experience writing YAML pipelines.
- 2+ years of experience supporting AVD environments.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
