Controls Commissioning Engineer

UK-Based | Field-Based | Full-Time

Join a leading manufacturer and integrator of automated material handling solutions as we expand our technical team across the UK. We're looking for Controls Commissioning Engineers who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about bringing cutting-edge automation systems to life.

What You’ll Do:

  • Commission and fine-tune automated conveyor systems (telescopic, powered, flexible, etc.) on-site.
  • Configure and test control systems including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and drives.
  • Perform I/O checks, software testing, and system diagnostics.
  • Collaborate with electrical installation teams and internal engineering departments.
  • Deliver hands-on training to customer operators and maintenance teams.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest technical and safety standards.

What You Bring:

  • Proven experience with industrial control systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.)
  • Hands-on PLC programming and fault-finding expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of motors, sensors, conveyors, and safety devices.
  • Familiarity with fieldbus protocols (e.g., PROFINET, EtherNet/IP).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • A problem-solving mindset and readiness for UK-wide travel, with occasional international trips.
