We are seeking a dedicated Shift Maintenance Technician to support a highly automated customer site for a globally recognised organisation. You’ll be responsible for maintaining, repairing and supporting automated material handling equipment, ensuring system availability, performance against KPIs, and exceptional service delivery in line with Customer Services standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, repair and support equipment within the agreed scope of contract on site
- Ensure system performance meets customer expectations, achieving KPI targets
- Carry out AMHE servicing in line with equipment manuals, quality standards and schedules
- Undertake scheduled repairs in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and industry best practice
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, electronic, PLC and PC-related faults
- Prioritise system faults to maintain product flow at all times
- Accurately record all work undertaken and maintain maintenance documentation
- Ensure on-site spare parts are maintained at optimum levels
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement and system enhancement initiatives
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, quality processes and company procedures
What We’re Looking For:
- NVQ Level 3 / ONC in an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering discipline (or equivalent) recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and electronic technical manuals and drawings
- Basic understanding of control systems, PLC equipment and fault-finding techniques
- Experience working with conveyor systems and automated material handling equipment
- Good level of PC literacy and maintenance record keeping
- Understanding of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
- Working knowledge of FEM and BS standards within the automated warehouse industry
- Experience working proactively with Health & Safety, including risk assessments and method statements
- IOSH Working Safely qualification (desirable)
- Experience working at height and willingness to do so
- Ability to manage on-site contractors when required
- Continuous improvement mindset and strong attention to quality
