Renault, Dacia & Alpine β Colchester

Ready for your next move in Automotive Aftersales? John Banks Group is looking for an organised, accurate and enthusiastic Aftersales Assistant / Warranty Processor to join our busy Renault, Dacia and Alpine Aftersales operation at Autoway, Colchester. This is an excellent opportunity for someone already working within automotive aftersales who enjoys the administrative and technical side of the department and wants to develop into a specialist warranty role.
The Role
- Working closely with our Aftersales Manager, Service Advisors, Technicians, Parts Department and Accounts Team, you will help ensure that our service operation runs efficiently and that warranty claims are accurately prepared, submitted and paid.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing, validating and submitting Renault, Dacia and Alpine warranty, goodwill and extended warranty claims within manufacturer timescales.
- Checking technician job cards and write-ups to ensure the correct cause, repair, parts, labour times and diagnostic information have been recorded.
- Following up rejected, queried or reduced warranty claims and ensuring outstanding claims are progressed through to resolution.
- Monitoring warranty payments and assisting with the reconciliation of submitted claims against manufacturer credits.
- Maintaining accurate warranty records and supporting manufacturer warranty audits.
- Keeping up to date with manufacturer campaigns, recalls, technical bulletins and warranty policy changes.
- Costing and invoicing retail, warranty, internal and account work accurately.
- Maintaining accurate customer, vehicle, job card and service-history information within our Dealer Management System.
- Assisting with the control of Work in Progress, unbilled jobs and outstanding warranty claims.
- Producing regular Aftersales reports for management.
- Processing service plans, extended warranties, sublet invoices and associated Aftersales documentation.
- Working closely with Accounts to resolve invoice, credit and warranty reconciliation queries.
- Supporting our Service Reception team during particularly busy periods.
- Helping the Aftersales Manager maintain strong departmental controls approaching month-end.
About You
We are looking for someone who is methodical, comfortable working with systems and figures and, most importantly, takes pride in getting the detail right. You should ideally have:
- Previous experience within an automotive dealership Aftersales, parts and Service Department.
- Experience as a Service Advisor, Service Administrator, Warranty Administrator, Parts Advisor, Workshop Controller or a similar dealership role.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow processes accurately.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage several priorities and deadlines.
- Confidence using computer systems, Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
- The ability to learn manufacturer systems and Dealer Management Systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The confidence to question missing information or challenge something that does not appear correct.
- A positive, professional and team-focused approach.
- Previous Renault, Dacia or Alpine experience would be advantageous, as would experience of processing manufacturer warranty claims, but neither is essential.
- Experience using a Dealer Management System such as Pinewood Pinnacle, Kerridge/CDK or Keyloop would also be beneficial.
