Could you be the Works Supervisor who keeps production running smoothly and delivers high-quality safety products on time? My client is a well‑established manufacturing company specialising in production of specialist safety equipment, committed to quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. They are seeking a proactive Works Supervisor to oversee production, coordinate the warehouse team, and ensure all products meet high standards. As a Works Supervisor, you will play a key role in scheduling, supervising staff, and keeping the production line running efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Oversee product production, ensuring schedules are met and quality standards are maintained
- Plan, coordinate, and control production alongside pick‑and‑pack operations in the warehouse
- Monitor KPIs, adjust resources as needed, and minimise material waste
- Ensure routine maintenance of equipment including laminators, bandknives, and slitting machines
- Organise transportation with couriers and freight forwarders
- Liaise with the Sales Office to ensure customer satisfaction
- Supervise and motivate a team of 12, conducting performance reviews and identifying training needs
- Generate production and other reports using designated IT systems
- Deputise for the Production Manager as required and maintain premises security in their absence
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in a similar role within a production or manufacturing environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across all levels of the business
- Confident decision‑maker with excellent problem‑solving abilities
- Highly organised, able to prioritise tasks, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment
- Must be confident to follow all processes in line with the ISO accreditation
- Experience supervising a team and implementing production processes
- Must be IT literate across Microsoft Office 365; experience with SAGE is an advantage but not essential
Benefits
- Competitive salary of £35,000pa
- Full‑time, Monday to Friday (39‑45 hours), 8:00am‑5:00pm Monday to Thursday, 8:00am‑1:30pm Friday
- Occasional overtime will be available on a Saturday morning
