We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Composite Design Engineer. In this role you will be responsible for the design of F1 car composite parts, from the studies of layout installations to the patterns, moulds, tools, and jigs. You will also be responsible for enhancing the development of more efficient design processes and mentorship of less experienced designers.
Responsibilities:- Composite Design
- Act on the composite design process, from conceptualization to detailed design of parts and relative tools, ensuring the integration of innovative and high-performance solutions.
- Ensure designed parts are legal and in line with the F1 Technical Regulation.
- Utilize expertise to contribute to the development of lightweight, reliable and aerodynamically efficient composite components.
- Responsible for (if required) the final sign off on the design release within their group.
- Cover the reliability needs for designed parts, in collaboration with the related involved departments.
- Provide availability to attend remote support from the Factory (Operation Room) during some of the race/track events.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the composite design team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including aerodynamics, concept, track side people, and other engineering disciplines, to integrate composite design seamlessly into the overall car design.
- Work closely with the Composite Design Team Leader and Deputy Team Leader to ensure alignment with project goals and deadlines.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the composite design team.
- Act as the primary point of contact within the assigned group for technical guidance on tasks assigned to designers.
- Work closely with suppliers and external partners to source high-quality materials and components.
- Maintain and develop effective communication with all other departments.
- Stay at the forefront of composite materials, manufacturing processes, and industry advancements.
- Provide flexible attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role and any specific requirements of the projects.
