Location: Bankside School, Hanley Castle WR8 0AD

Salary: ÂŁ26,000.00 per annum (not pro rata)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am – 4.00pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

Start: September 2025

As part of our continued growth, we’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Cooking Tutor to join our supportive and close-knit team at Bankside School, part of Options Autism. This is a rewarding role for someone with a passion for cooking and a desire to make a difference in the lives of young people with autism and complex needs—helping them gain practical skills and confidence through hands-on learning in the kitchen.

About the Role

We require an experienced and qualified Cooking Tutor who has the ability to make a significant contribution to our school. The successful candidate will be an innovative, reflective practitioner who can demonstrate the willingness to adapt and learn. We are looking for an individual with high expectations and standards who can offer excellent behavioural management skills. An additional strength would be a creative, engaging approach to curriculum design and planning for pupils with SEND.

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate may have industry experience and experience of working with pupils with a range of complex learning needs. You will be able to demonstrate a working understanding of how these needs impact upon learning and behaviour in the classroom. You may have specialist knowledge and experience of working with autistic spectrum condition or pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Or you may have experience of working across both specialisms. Applications are invited from colleagues offering experience from mainstream schools and other educational/vocational settings. The ability to contribute to the development of our school is essential and we believe that energy, passion and a commitment to high standards are key characteristics required. We are looking for an individual who is able to help inspire and engage the students that we serve. This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their skills and experience in a challenging, motivating and highly rewarding environment. Previous experience of working in a SEN environment would be desirable, excellent support skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are also just as important.

Bankside School is an exciting new venture near Hanley Castle, Worcester. Our new specialist school caters for students aged 11-18 years old with Autism, Complex needs and learning disabilities. For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. You’ll work 80% of your contractual hours for 100% of your pay, giving you more time to do the things that make you happy. 4DWW is subject to successful completion of probation and is not a contractual benefit.
