Douglas City Council is seeking a motivated and organised Technical Assistant to provide maternity cover within our Waste Services team. This varied role combines customer service, administration, data analysis and environmental awareness, supporting the day-to-day delivery of refuse, recycling and commercial waste services. You will act as a key point of contact for residents and businesses, assist with waste and recycling initiatives, manage records and invoicing processes, and help promote environmental sustainability across the city.
The successful candidate will have strong administrative and communication skills, experience dealing with customers, and the ability to maintain accurate records and analyse information. A flexible, proactive approach is essential, together with good IT skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Knowledge of waste services, local government or environmental programmes would be advantageous, but not essential. A full driving licence is required.
