Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity to grow your skills and be part of a dynamic team?

This is an exciting opportunity for a digitally innovative communicator to shape and deliver the organisation's digital communications. Working as part of the Communications and Marketing Team, you will create, develop and optimise engaging content across the organisation's website, social media and other digital channels.

Working closely with colleagues across Fundraising and the wider Hospice, you will create and deliver communications that build awareness, strengthen engagement and demonstrate the positive impact of the Hospice on patients and those close to them. We are looking for someone who combines strong digital communication skills with creativity, curiosity and an audience-focused, data-informed approach. You will create and shape a wide range of content, including news, features, campaigns, photography, video and social media, while managing the charity website, social platforms, emailers and contributing to the development of our digital channels. A key part of the role will be using analytics, audience insight and performance data to understand what is working and inform future activity. The role will involve testing, learning and adapting - identifying opportunities, responding to changing audience behaviour and using insight to improve our digital communications and their impact.

Person specification:

  • Strong experience managing and creating engaging content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and other relevant channels.
  • Skilled in online copywriting, with an ability to understand and promote St Raphael's work effectively
  • Experience developing and delivering digital campaigns across social media, email and other relevant channels.
  • Experience planning and optimising paid digital advertising across social media, YouTube and Google Ads.
  • Experience running email marketing campaigns using platforms such as Mailchimp.
  • Good understanding of digital content strategy, accessibility standards and SEO.
  • Strong working knowledge of content management systems (CMS).
  • Experience using analytics tools such as GA4 and social media insights to monitor performance, understand audience behaviour and inform digital activity.
  • Experience testing content, messaging or approaches, using audience insight and results to improve and adapt future activity.
  • Communication and relationship-building skills, with experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects effectively.
  • A proactive, creative and curious approach, with strong organisation, attention to detail and a willingness to learn, adapt and try new things.
  • Empathy with the work of St Raphael's and an ability to quickly learn and understand its aims and objectives in providing free, vital palliative and end of life care to the people of Merton and Sutton.
