\ N You'll be joining an established and successful manufacturing SME based in Skelmersdale. The business has built a strong reputation within its specialist market and is looking to strengthen its leadership team with the appointment of an experienced Financial Controller is an excellent opportunity to join a hands-on, commercially focused business where finance plays an important role in supporting operational performance and future growth.
Your new role
\ N Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, managing a small team while remaining very hands-on yourself.
\ N Key responsibilities will include:

- \n
- Managing and developing a small finance team
- Producing monthly management accounts and reporting using Sage.
- Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
- Managing the year-end process and external audit
- Maintaining robust financial controls and processes
- Overseeing transactional finance, including AP and AR
- VAT and statutory reporting requirements
- Providing commercial analysis to support business decisions
- Working closely with manufacturing and operational teams
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, reporting and processes

What you'll need to succeed
\ N You'll be an experienced Financial Controller or senior finance professional who enjoys working within an SME environment and being close to the numbers and the wider business, you will have:

- \n
- ACA, ACCA or CIMAqualification, or significant relevant experience
- Previous experience within manufacturing, engineering or a similar operational environment
- Strong management accounting and financial control experience
- Experience managing anddeveloping a small finance team
- Good working knowledge of Sage
- Strong Excel and reporting skills
- A practical, hands-on approach
- The confidence to work with operational and senior stakeholders
- Occasional UK travel tosubsidiary site.
