Occupational Therapist

\n An exciting opportunity has arisen within our community Occupational Therapist team in Adult Services Renfrewshire.
\ N
\n Occupational Therapists provide assessment, therapeutic intervention, advice, guidance and practical support to people and carers within the community.
\ N
\n Working in partnership with Social Workers, Health and Care at Home teams our Occupational Therapists provide a care management role, equipment, adaptations, and are required to adhere to legislation including Manual Handling operations 1992 amended 2002, Adult Support and Protection Act 2007 and Self-Directed Support Act 2013.
\ N
\n All OccupationalTherapists operate under the Council’s WORKSMART arrangements which promote mobile and flexible work practices;
therefore, you will be expected to travel throughout Renfrewshire.
\ N
\n You will be based within Johnstone Town Hall and Renfrew Health and Social Care building.
\ N
\n It is essential that you have a Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy, registration with the Health and Care Professions’ Council;
previous occupational therapy experience, desirably in a social work service setting;
have proven assessment skills, effective IT, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
you are motivated;
flexible in your approach, with a commitment to social work values, Occupational Therapy standards and code of ethics.

The ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with partner agencies is also essential.
\ N
\n You will be expected to record and monitor work using the Eclipse system, therefore, experience of using electronic case record systems is desirable.
\ N
\n Full training and support will be given to ensure that you are able to maintain the service’s commitment to continuous improvement.
\ N
\n A driving licence is also desirable.
\ N
\n If successful, you will be required to undertake a PVG check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.

\n If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
