Job&Talent are recruiting for experienced FLT (Flexi and counterbalance) operators in Millbrook, Southampton. We are looking for hard working and experienced FLT Operators to join our team as our client is ramping up for some new business opportunities.
As a Forklift Driver you will need to have:
- Previous FLT experience of a minimum of 3 months is required.
- A licence/certificate is not mandatory, but it would be an advantage if you hold one.
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work both individually and as part of a team in a physically demanding environment.
- A can do, right first time and passionate approach.
- Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern.
- Safety Shoes.
Salary: Pay rate starts at £13.43 basic rate per hour, after 12 weeks to £14.09. Overtime after 40 hours is paid at £20.15 per hour.
Our client offers day training suitable for all candidates and will conduct a Forklift drivers assessment prior to day 1 to assess experience. We are currently looking for Monday to Friday, on the 2-week rotating shifts.
Location: Millbrook, Southampton
Hours of work: Rotating shifts Monday-Friday 0600-1400, 1400-2200 shifts rotate every 2 weeks. Paid breaks - 30 min break daily, fully paid.
Role of a FLT Operative:
- Safely operate a range of FLT vehicles to demands of the business in a busy industrial environment.
- Accurately receive, pick, assemble and load customer orders within depot accuracy and speed targets.
- Contribute towards a clean and safe working environment, demonstrating concern to ensure that personal actions do not compromise the health and safety of self and/or colleagues at all times.
- Handle customer stock with care and consideration to minimise damages and maximise customer service.
- Adhere to instructions and guidelines regarding manual handling, the use of Mechanical Handling equipment, including pre-operational checks, reporting of defects, and the safe use and operation of all equipment.
- Loading and unloading of delivery vehicles, stacking stock onto and off pallets in a safe and stable manner ready for transit.
Full Training will be provided. Please Note: This role requires long term commitment and is not suitable for candidates looking for short term temporary work.
