Job&Talent is recruiting for an experienced Operations Team Leader in Millbrook. We are looking for a hardworking, reliable and motivated individual to join the team. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous team leadership experience who can support the smooth running of warehouse operations and help drive performance across the shift.
As an Operations Team Leader, you will need to have:
- Previous experience leading a team
- A good level of general IT literacy
- Basic knowledge of Excel and Outlook
- The ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A proactive and hands-on approach
- Flexibility to work on site, full time
Role of an Operations Team Leader:
- Support the planning of staffing levels to maximise productivity without affecting service levels
- Coordinate inbound, outbound and pre-retail shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery
- Use the WMS to complete inbound and outbound tasks while maintaining stock accuracy
- Support parcel processing, returns, goods-in and load scanning activities
- Carry out manual handling duties, including wrapping pallets, moving boxes and lifting where required
- Lead and supervise agency workers, assigning tasks and ensuring KPIs are met
- Support and motivate the team by monitoring performance and maintaining standards
- Deal with poor performance or negative behaviour promptly and professionally
- Work closely with other Team Leaders to ensure all departments run efficiently
- Take full responsibility for the department during your shift
- Complete site inductions for new starters and agency workers, and provide training where required
- Ensure SOPs are accurate and report any updates needed
- Help drive continuous improvement across warehouse operations
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, health and safety, and compliance at all times
Please Note: This role requires previous team leader experience. Warehouse experience is advantageous, but not essential. Temporary to permanent role, with the opportunity to become permanent after 12 weeks if successful the period.
