  • Work in partnership with the Connections Operability Assessment team, network owners and customers to develop policy around efficient connection solutions
  • Ensure connection solutions meet customer needs and technical standards, including SQSS and Grid Code
  • Collaborate with COAT to ensure generic Appendix F templates are fit for purpose and compliant with system and Grid Code requirements
  • Manage technical customer queries in collaboration with customer teams
  • Support customer contract managers and compliance managers with technical queries throughout the connections process
  • Support other ESO departments with technical queries relating to the connections process
  • Contribute to or lead technical innovation within Connections
  • Facilitate the connection of generation and demand onto the system while supporting net-zero system operation and network safety

Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK by the start of employment
  • Understanding of codes which relate to connections, including SQSS and Grid Code
  • Experience of undertaking power system analysis and connections studies with a good understanding of power system planning and operations (not essential)
  • Experience using Power System Modelling and Analysis tools such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory and PSS/E (not essential)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent report writing skills
