Responsibilities
- Plan, build, and manage air export consolidations (consols) through the gateway.
- Coordinate cargo from multiple branches and customers into groupage shipments.
- Manage airline bookings and space allocations to support consolidation plans.
- Ensure timely cargo cut-offs, build-up, and uplift in line with flight schedules.
- Liaise with internal export teams, overseas offices, and key accounts to align shipment priorities.
- Prepare and verify export and consolidation documentation, including MAWB/HAWB, manifests, and customs paperwork.
- Monitor cargo flow into the gateway and resolve delays or discrepancies proactively.
- Optimise routing and carrier selection to balance cost efficiency and service levels.
- Handle specialist cargo including GDP (Good Distribution Practice) and Dangerous Goods (DG) in line with regulations.
- Ensure compliance with customs procedures, aviation security, and export controls (e.g., IPRs, SIEL/OIEL, Carnets where applicable).
- Perform post-flight checks and manage exceptions or claims.
- Complete file closure and support accurate invoicing at consolidation/job level.
- Maintain accurate records within internal systems (e.g., Cargowise/AS400).
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders across the network.
- Identify opportunities to improve consolidation efficiency and gateway performance.
- Escalate operational issues to senior management where required.
Requirements
- Previous Air Freight Export experience (gateway or consolidation experience highly desirable).
- Strong understanding of air export processes and consolidation (groupage) operations.
- Experience with airline bookings and capacity management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); experience with Cargowise or AS400 advantageous.
- Good knowledge of Aviation Security and export compliance requirements.
- Available to work shifts Monday - Saturday.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure in a time-critical environment.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to make operational and cost-based decisions.
- Effective communicator with the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage workload independently.
