Technician, Gene and Cell Therapy – Translational Research

  • Conduct microbiology workflows to prepare plasmid stocks and libraries
  • Perform routine cloning to generate plasmid and lentiviral vector constructs
  • Conduct cell culture and transfection workflows for lentiviral vector production
  • Determine viral particle titers and perform quality control using flow cytometry and droplet digital PCR
  • Test and optimize viral particle production and quality-control protocols
  • Organize and track samples during production and storage
  • Support laboratory operations, including inventory management, solution preparation, routine laboratory tasks, and mycoplasma testing
  • Contribute to preparing, reviewing, and completing study reports and protocol SOPs
  • Contribute to research team and department activities, laboratory duties, and group and department meetings
  • Work closely with the Translational Research Team to plan and conduct routine lentiviral production runs and maintain laboratory documentation and reports

Requirements

  • Candidates must have experience in cellular and molecular biology
  • Experience of working with Lentiviral Vectors
  • Skills in mammalian cell culture, vector engineering, genetic engineering, cloning, PCR, transfection, transduction, and assay development
  • Organized and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and remain flexible and adaptable
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with the research team and cross-functionally
  • Keen attention to detail and good analytical ability to interpret data sets
  • Ability to analyze and write up data and maintain accurate records
  • IT skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience working with an ELN such as Benchling preferred
  • Highly motivated and eager to take responsibility for contributing to Orchard's mission
  • BSc or MSc with a focus on a relevant biological discipline, including molecular biology or biotechnology, plus at least 2 years of laboratory work with viral vectors and molecular biology; or more than 5 years of experience in virology, lentiviral vector production, and genetic engineering technologies
  • Participation in E-Verify
