  • Manage all OHSE matters for the Swansea site
  • Deploy AFEMEA strategic OHSE initiatives and support initiative development with plant management
  • Ensure fulfilment of legal requirements, AFEMEA policies, regulations, and corporate guidelines
  • Own the site OHSE policy and action plans
  • Support compliance with Amcor OHSE objectives and Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
  • Monitor health and safety legislation and advise site management
  • Chair Safety Committee and Safety Steerco meetings
  • Attend Amcor health and safety meetings, seminars, and appropriate supplier and customer site visits
  • Drive continuous improvement in OHSE practices and culture
  • Agree improvement priorities and injury-prevention plans with senior management
  • Implement and manage OHSE projects, reporting progress to managers
  • Ensure project completion, risk assessments, training, and communications are finalized before handover
  • Analyze LTIs, RCs, and NMs to prioritize effective corrective actions
  • Maintain OHSE procedures and lead OHSAS/ISO 18001 audits
  • Support assessment, control, and monitoring of hazardous substances and workplace risks
  • Maintain OHSE records and produce required reports and statistics
  • Provide accident statistics for monthly and six-monthly compliance reports
  • Publish and communicate health and safety policies and activities
  • Maintain effective health and safety communications across the business
  • Standardize documentation and systems for future Amcor Flexibles use
  • Investigate safety and environmental incidents and extract learnings to prevent recurrence
  • Assist with information for insurance claims
  • Support company training on new or improved installations
  • Attend operations review meetings and develop processes
  • Ensure operational and engineering tasks are risk-assessed and communicated

Requirements

  • Professional Health & Safety qualification
  • Experience in a similar position within a production environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Key skills and experience in OHSE
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement
  • Ability to motivate co-workers in OHSE performance
  • Strong team-player abilities
  • Ability to bridge conflicting interests of concerned parties
  • Ability to build team commitment and positively handle resistance to behavioural changes
  • Ability to identify OHSE impacts of situations or changes and share new knowledge
  • Strong program implementation skills within short timeframes
  • Scientific, Engineering or Mathematical qualifications at least A-level (desirable; degree preferred)
  • Experience in the packaging industry in a technical, CI or operational role (desirable)
